Shopping tour at the “Trident”.
The heart of the luxury shopping in Rome is Piazza di Spagna and the roads nearby. Near the Spanish steps are located the most important designer stores on the renowned shopping streets of Rome: Via Condotti, Via Borgognona and Via Frattina and some are distinctly ethnic and that also shouldn’t be missed, such as Piazza Vittorio and Trastevere.
Leaving Piazza di Spagna, on the right side heading towards Piazza del Popolo, is located Via del Babuino, a trendy city-centre street lined with antique dealers, art galleries and exclusive boutiques. Some of the shops have a long history, such as the print shop, Disegni e quadri di Armando Pereira at number 110. Wagner and Poussin both used to live on this street.
Parallel to the elegant Via del Babuino runs the narrow but noteworthy Via Margutta. Here a large number of young artists, with great hopes and little money, made their names. The street is now peppered with little art galleries. The attics of the houses were and are still the studios of painters great and small.
And after shopping if you are not too tired, we suggest you to cruise the Eternal City on a classic Vespa or Lambretta with one of our expert drivers as Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck in the famous film “Roman Holiday”.
For both cities is available a list of properties selected within four and five stars hotels based in the heart of shopping centers.
